Dr. Marijke Roosen is a member of RHEA. Her fields of interests are gender-related violence, Science and Technology Studies, and digitalization. Marijke obtained her PhD in Criminology in 2018 at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, with her doctoral thesis “using technology to punish. An empirical study of the work of the electronic monitoring officer from a structuration theory approach”. She has since worked as a senior researcher at UC Leuven-Limburg, a postdoctoral researcher at TILT (Tilburg University) and a visiting professor at Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Marijke is currently working as a postdoctoral researcher on domestic violence during the Corona pandemic.
