Ineke Casier holds a master in criminological sciences and a master’s in law. She is a PhD student in criminological sciences, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. S. Snacken, Prof. Dr. P. De Hert and Prof. Dr. W. Distelmans. The topic of her PhD is 'the influence of legislation on relations of (extreme) institutional dependency - Forms of autonomy and participation in prisons and health care institutions'. She has been working for RHEA on a research project entitled Obstacles and stimuli in the careers of female scientists in photonics', under the supervision of Prof. Dr. A. Woodward en Prof. Dr. M. De Metsenaere. Her areas of interest are career obstacles, gender equality, work-life balance and women & science.
