Dr. Maria Chipenembe

Maria Judite Mario Chipenembe Ngale is a lecturer at Eduardo Mondlane University - Mozambique since 2004. She holds a bachelors honours degree in Anthropology and Master Degree in Sociology. She is interested in researching the health and wellbeing of the sexual minority groups in Mozambique. At RHEA, she completed a joint PhD (VUB/UGent) in Gender & Diversity, titled “Sexual Rights Activism in Mozambique. A qualitative case study of civil society organisations and experiences of lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons” in 2018.
