Prof. Dr. Evelien Timbermont
Biography
Evelien Timbermont is a postdoctoral researcher at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and is also active as a visiting professor at Ghent University. She obtained her PhD (VUB, 2020) with a thesis on the legal position of teaching staff in the Flemish Community. Furthermore, she has worked as a lawyer specialised in social law for some time.
Her research focuses on industrial relations in general and in education in particular, with attention paid to both individual and collective labour law. One of the research tracks is related to diversity and inclusion in education. Moreover, she has a particular interest in the impact of fundamental rights on the employment relationship and especially in the concept of religious-ethos enterprises (‘tendenzbetrieb’, ‘entreprise de tendance’ or ‘identiteitsgebonden ondernemingen’).
