Shilpi Pandey
Biography
Bio
Grounded in a non-Western and critically decolonial perspective, Shilpi is currently pursuing a transformative PhD at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), where her research interrogates the complex intersections of law, gender, religion, and minority rights. At the heart of her work is a commitment to rethinking the categorization of 'the other' and challenging dominant narratives that continue to marginalize racialized and gendered bodies through colonial and Eurocentric legal frameworks. Shilpi's research is deeply rooted in the principles of intersectionality—not merely as an analytical tool, but as a lived reality shaped by structural inequalities, postcolonial histories, and resistance. By centering voices and experiences from the Global South, Shilpi aims to contribute to the decolonization of knowledge and foster more inclusive, emancipatory approaches to justice. She welcomes dialogue and collaboration at the crossroads of law, identity, and equality.
